I chose to go to Earth's Embrace Community Church because Matthew was super accommodating and flexible to my needs. He explained that they use a ceremony format I was familiar with. Especially the all important (mix of indigenous and psychedelic themed) music. When I got there, I was welcomed into and felt part of the community following a personal tour. There were many familiar faces which I was so happy to see. All of which made me feel super comfortable and most importantly, relaxed enough to go deeper than I've ever been before.
The rural space is a beautiful nature spot with sounds of the forest, which helped ground and immerse me into the experience. Which I particularly found helpful for journey reflection. The food was amazing (thanks Derick!). The staff/volunteers/participants were friendly and funny, which also put me at ease. There were various activities, such as breathwork, integration, and adding our mark to an evolving painting.
The ceremony itself was all I hoped for and more. I went the deepest I've ever gone, and had several profound insights. Though they encourage us to help and express ourselves freely, there were lots of volunteers to the intimate group of participants. Which meant there was plenty of support whenever we needed it. Matthew and Gretchen personally checked in on me several times; before, during, and after. Making me feel personally catered for, like I was the only one there...even though I know they were doing the same for everyone else.
They said they felt honored that I came to drink with them, but I'm the one that is honored to be a part of their community. I highly recommend this church and would love to go back someday, because I know I would be welcomed back with love...and I'm sure you would be too.
It's also worth noting, that several post SQ churches are supporting each other, making a larger and stronger community so the medicine is more accessible to those that need it.

Cannot say enough about the care, involvement, preparation, approach and guidance that Earth's Embrace provided me. Highly recommend this stop in your personal journey.

I have been to 3 different retreats in the USA and this one was hands down my favorite. They have small retreats held on a 40 acre farm surrounded by natural wooded land. The ceremonies are preformed outside by experienced, caring facilitators using Brazilian tribal traditions. The facilities are clean and comfortable. We felt watched over and safe with the caring staff which included a EMT in attendance. The music was so good and even better when the volunteers and members played instruments and sang along, It was magical! If you are looking for a safe, loving community for plant medicine, this is the place to go. We will be back again soon.
